My classic go-to look – featuring Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

I’ve actually been trying to find a foundation that I like, and luckily enough we received the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in our Uni Voxbox (for free to test and review). Minus the fact that the one I received is totally not my color, I really like it. 🙂 So here’s my classic go-to look using the foundation. 🙂 Here are the products I used:

Sally Hansen #CSMTKO (Complete Salon Manicure Total Knock Out) Review

I have been hitting the Influenster jackpot, lately! I was fortunate enough to receive the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure voxbox. I would’ve been so upset if I didn’t get this one, because I’m a huuuuge nail junkie. Anyways, I received three lovely colors! 🙂

Image

The colors are: Jaded, Red My Lips, and Pat on the Black.

First impression: This stuff is amazing! I didn’t use a base coat or a top coat, and the shine was incredible. I love the brush and the fact that it doesn’t leave any streaks on your nails. Here’s what my fresh manicure looked like:

Image

Amazing right? That’s only 2 coats, no base coat, no top coat. Love it!
However, I painted my nails at 3pm. I woke up the next morning with sheet marks on my nails. WHAT!? haha It doesn’t make any sense… About half an hour after I painted my nails I took a shower, and my nails were fine.
Anyways, even though it’s weird that I had sheet marks like 18 hours later, I would buy the whole line if I had the money. This stuff is awesome, and I would definitely recommend it. And for those of you who don’t believe the whole “full coverage in one stroke” hype, take a looky here. I did a test where I did one stroke on a piece of paper with all different brands of nail polish. I had the same amount of nail polish on each brush, and went the same length.

Image

Essie decdied to give up after like 2 centimeters, Sally Hansen went the whole way down with no gaps, Revlon did well except for the gap near the bottom, and OPI did well except for the gap near the top. So overall, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure was the only one that pulled through the entire way, and looks full. When painting your nails, however, I definitely suggest at least two coats. Surprisingly, coat number one was sheer and kind of dull. But coat two was perfect! 🙂 It’s only been two days since I painted my nails, so I can’t really say as far as how long it lasts. But I will update as soon as I know. 🙂 So far so good, though! I am noticing like a barely there fade at the tip of my nails, so we’ll see!

So all in all, yes, no hesitation, I would recommend this brand of nail polish. It’s sold just about every nail polish is sold – CVS, Walgreen’s, Rite Aid, Walmart, etc.

UPDATE: It’s been 5 days and my mani still looks great! No chips, and just a little bit of fading near the tips. 🙂

NYC HD Color Trio Eye Shadow!

One of the products I received complimentary from Influenster via the Jolly Voxbox was the NYC HD Color Trio Eye Shadow. I’m a sucker for brown eyeshadow, so I knew I would automatically fall in love with it. However, since N.Y.C. is a cheaper brand, the eyeshadows usually need some type of primer. As you can tell:

Anyways, I’m not sure if this needs much explanation besides pictures. There was some fallout, but that’s expected when you’re only paying $3 for an eyeshadow trio. There actually wasn’t much fallout, but there was some. As far as application, I did have to go back to the palette a couple times for a few more “layers”. But once I again, at $3 for an eyeshadow trio, I don’t mind. So here’s the final look:

I’d say not bad. 🙂

YAYY! Another Voxbox!

I am so thankful that I received the 2013 Jolly Voxbox!

**I received these items for free to test and review**
I’m so excited about all of the items I have received:

Skinny Cow Divine Filled Chocolates: Peanut Butter Creme
Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer
Puffs Plus Lotion
Duck Tape
N.Y.C. HD Color Trio Eye Shadow

Image

Skinny Cow: It tastes AMAZING! The peanut butter inside is like real peanut butter. Not like the crumbly stuff inside of a certain chocolate/peanut butter candy combo that’s pretty famous. 😛

Rimmel: You definitely need a mirror to apply this one, ladies. It has great pigmentation, and looks great! However, the tip of the brush is a little rough so it leaves an application line.

Puffs plus Lotion: I haven’t used this specific pack, but I’ve used this product before. I love it because it has the super soft feeling. But after a million uses, it still leaves your nose feeling raw. However, it’s not as bad as if you were using regular tissues.

I haven’t tried the other two products yet, so I can’t leave my opinion yet.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season, and I will talk to all of you later! 🙂

Dr. Scholl’s® For Her Cozy Cushions

One item I was very excited about receiving in my Rose Voxbox was the Dr. Scholl’s For Her Cozy Cushions. They look a little something like this:

 Image

Okay, maybe they look exactly like that. Anyways, the first thing I noticed was of course that they were like a big pad of fuzz that we’re supposed to put in our shoes. Um… ew? Won’t it get all warm and sweaty and then they’ll get gross? False! At least.. so far. I love these things. They keep your feet warm and like you’re walking on a bunch of kittens. Except… less harmful and sad.

Here are the boots I put mine in:

Image

I went to their Facebook page and noticed a lot of people put theirs in their slippers (okay, I understand these are meant to be comfortable and keep your feet warm. But isn’t that also the point of slippers? So why combine them?) Anyways, I also noticed a lot of people were putting them in their heeled boots. Genius!

So I decided to follow this trend and I’m glad I did. I’m not saying that I’m now able to walk the mile it takes to get to class in these, but at least I can walk around the mall without wanting to rip them off my feet at the end of the day.

All in all, I love these little fuzzy clouds that we get to walk on, and if you want to see what it would feel like to walk around in Heaven as well, I’d suggest getting yourself a pair. You can trim them to fit your shoes, and use the extra trimmings as a new cat toy. Make your cat feel a little more at home or something… I don’t know.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara <3

After I received my Varsity Voxbox, I also qualified for the Rose Voxbox!! I am so happy and grateful since I haven’t received a Voxbox in so long! As always, I love every single item in the Voxbox and am so happy I get to spread the word about the wonderful products that Influenster sends me. 🙂 This post in particular is dedicated to the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Retro Glam mascara.

I am so absolutely in love with this mascara. The wand is so cool, too!!

Anyways, I’m sure you want to know how it works. 😉 Well I do love it – it’s hard for me not to love a mascara. 😛 This does clump every once in a while, but it’s not too bad. I’m not sure I would pay full price for it (I believe the card said it was like $8?) But if it was on sale or something then I would purchase it again. Here’s how it looks on:

So all in all – if you’re in the market for a new mascara, I would say go ahead and give this one a try. It hits the shelves November of 2013! 🙂
